We are able to scan slide in carousels. If you do decide to ship your slides in carousels, then we will charge you a surcharge of $4.95 each. If you have slides in magazines or slide display pages, you may ship them in that manner with no surcharge. Alternately you can package your slides in aluminum foil boxes. This will be much cheaper for shipping. Regardless of how you ship them, please secure them tightly with rubber bands or wrap them in saran wrap to prevent the images from shifting around during shipping. Slides, negatives and prints are very durable and don’t require excess protection while shipping – but you should put them in Ziploc bags to protect from any inadvertent spills on the delivery truck. A single layer of bubble wrap will generally suffice for protection in the box. Never send your order in bubble mailers – always use a certified shipping box.
Approximately 1200 paper print scans at 600dpi and 300 negative or slide scans at 3000dpi. The exact number is difficult to determine because of the digital size of the scanned image – for instance, a picture of a sunset over the mountains will have much more detail than a picture of a green leaf against a white wall and will, therefore, be larger in size.
Your decision may rest on how you plan to view or share the images once they are digitized. If you plan to send individual or small numbers of with others then it may make sense to have the photos saved to DVD or USB Key. If you are not sure you can always email and ask for a recommendation.
We will bill you when your order is placed. Charges for the entire order and return shipping. Upon completion of your service we will return all of your originals. “Standard service” processing takes 4-6 weeks from the time we receive your originals. For larger quantities, please add approximately 4 days for every additional 1000 photos.
We ship to all of the United States and Canada to home and business addresses. Currently we are not shipping to overseas locations and P.O. box addresses.
We will replace any defective products within 30 days of the date of the returned original order.
Currently, there is $10 handling surcharge per album/s. We recommend removing the photos from the Album/s and placing them in the order you would like to have the images scanned. Every effort will be made to scan and replace the image back in the same sequence. If we are unable to scan photos for any reason, we will contact you prior to further scanning attempts; to discuss your recommendations.
