I wanted to start a Photo Booth Business in 2024.

Hello Visitors and Friends

I looked at starting my own small business several times before. I have a photo and slide scanning service that has yet to take off as I had hoped. Looking for an alternative to make some money and do something fun simultaneously, I decided to research the Photo Booth business. Read many postings online and watched countless videos on what to do and how to start a Photo Booth business.  There were a few common concepts that kept coming up.

·      Find a great domain name that points to what you are doing and generates excitement to help book your Booth.

·      Check to be sure no one else is using that name and set up the company structure.

·      Create or have created a great Logo that represents the business.

·      Create a Social Media Presence. Facebook, Instagram, X and Tik Tok.

·      Have a website created and link it all together.

·      Invest in a CRM and try to automate as many processes as possible to help scale and manage the business—lead capture, contracts, calendars, and invoicing.

·      Set up a banking option. It could be a separate blog conversation all on its own.

·      Find a reliable bookkeeper and Lawyer familiar with the rules in your State.

·      Decide which type of Booth to buy and identify which software to use with it.

I can hear you thinking as you read all of that above: that’s a lot of steps. You are right.

Fortunately, I already had a name I had researched, owned the domain, and was already incorporated in my state: the first two steps down and seven more to go.

I had launched Facebook and Instagram Pages for the other business, so I wanted to leverage as much of that presence as possible. I updated the pages to the new logos and prepared an announcement to herald the new business launch when everything was ready.

I engaged a great person to work on building my website, and I set about creating content, packages, and pricing for the site. I provided the social handles to the website builder to be uploaded.

As I was reading and watching videos, several of the creators offered suggestions on CRMs and website builders they preferred. Some of them offered discounts if you used their booking codes to sign up for different products. I am sure they are receiving some benefits from me using their codes, but I am also reaping the savings by doing so. I pressed forward.

The most difficult part so far has been deciding on package pricing and finding a lawyer in my state to review a contract. I need at least one, if not three, that would work for the potential states where I could be booked. I live on the border of two other states, and you can be there in just a few minutes on the road.

I have narrowed down the Booth type and the software. I will go with a tablet-style booth since I already own a recent, well-known brand tablet, so it does not drive up my startup costs. As far as the software goes, it is an add-on for the Booth if I purchase it from the vendor. There is a recurring fee for the software, so it seems clear the accessories and the software are where the real money is made for that vendor.

Just a few minutes ago, I approved the work done by the website builder. So, as soon as I can wrangle the Lawyer issue and nail down the pricing, I will be ready to go.

Wish me success, IMBL.
